Dave Sparrow has stepped down from his role as CEO of Vegan Food Group (VFG), a company he initially joined as CEO of VFC (Vegan Fried Chicken) in 2021. Under Sparrow's leadership, VFG went on to acquire two other plant-based companies — Meatless Farm and Clive’s Purely Plants. Following the acquisitions, the company rebranded as Vegan Food Group, with Sparrow continuing as CEO until his recent departure.

During Sparrow's tenure, VFG also acquired German tofu producer TOFUTOWN and assisted plant-based egg alternative Just Egg in its launch in the UK. Despite Sparrow's departure, co-founder and chair Matthew Glover remains with the company, focusing on consolidating the different plant-based brands under the VFG structure to achieve operational efficiencies and enhance market competitiveness. The company has seen other recent departures, including CFO Phil Eden and co-founder Adam Lyons, with Glover emphasizing the importance of uniting brands within VFG to utilize combined expertise and resources for strategic growth and success in the plant-based food industry.
