Denver’s First Black-Owned Vegan Bakery Opens August 12

Denver’s first Black-owned vegan bakery, The Cake Bar, is set to open on August 12 at 11am. Led by owner Angela Wells, the bakery aims to become a go-to destination for cake enthusiasts and lovers of delicious plant-based desserts. The Cake Bar prides itself on being a community hub that embraces diversity, as it is vegan-owned, Black-owned, woman-owned, and LGBTQIA+ owned.

The grand opening event, taking place at City O’ City, will offer customers a taste of unique and innovative cakes. The celebration will include cake challenges, special guest appearances, surprises, and more. Located in the heart of Denver at 214 E 13th Ave, customers can enjoy their treats at City O’ City until 1pm, complete with a DJ and bar.
