Doisy & Dam Acquired by Organic Cocoa Producer Food Thoughts

UK-based vegan chocolate brand Doisy & Dam has been acquired by Food Thoughts, a producer of organic cocoa and cacao products. Founded in 2012, Doisy & Dam offers ethical and sustainable plant-based confectionery, including alternatives to popular products like M&Ms and Maltesers. Food Thoughts, known for its fairly traded cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and cacao nibs, is expanding its plant-based offerings with acquisitions like Doisy & Dam.

The acquisition comes as plant-based chocolate gains popularity, with the global market projected to reach $2 billion by 2032. Brands like LoveRaw and mainstream companies like Lindt and Hershey are tapping into this trend. Mark Gould, managing director at Food Thoughts, sees the addition of Doisy & Dam as an exciting opportunity to offer a range of ethical plant-based chocolate products and align with the brand's values, such as avoiding palm oil and supporting environmental causes.
