These groups highlight how surcharges can disproportionately affect communities with lactose intolerance and discourage the uptake of dairy alternatives. No Milk Tax also celebrated the change, noting that the "era of the 'milk tax'" is coming to an end as more companies eliminate additional charges for non-dairy milk options.
