The tool, typically costing between $500 and $1,500 per user per year, has no usage cap, payment tier, or credit card requirement. AKA Label Studio was developed by the same in-house food R&D team behind AKA Studio, the company’s paid AI-powered product development platform. It automates the detection of allergens, tracks regulatory updates, and includes a compliance review workflow.

Additional features of AKA Label Studio include recipe versioning, lab result integration, multi-recipe reports, and access to USDA Foundation Foods as an ingredient source. Labels export in various formats and switching between US and EU/UK compliance frameworks is quick. The tool serves as an entry point to AKA Studio, with an upgrade path to a paid license. AKA Foods aims to drive adoption through the freemium model, where the no-cost product leads users to paid tiers based on feedback for requested features.
