Eatable Adventures Opens NOVO Accelerator to Bring Deeptech Into Agriculture and Food

Eatable Adventures has opened applications for NOVO Agrifoodtech, an equity-free program that will recruit startups building on technologies developed outside the food sector such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, advanced materials and quantum computing. The program will select ten international startups and run over 12 weeks, combining online mentoring with two in-person bootcamps in Bilbao, and is backed by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and developed with Basque technology centre AZTI.

Investor interest in science-based startups in the agriculture and food sector is growing, with deeptech representing 32% of all investment in 2025. NOVO aims to bring these deeptech solutions into the agriculture and food industry by providing technical validation support, access to an investor network, and the opportunity to run pilot projects with Basque agrifood companies. The program, operated by Eatable Adventures, seeks technology validated at proof-of-concept level with plans to enter the European market. Applications are open until September for startups interested in bringing cutting-edge technologies to the agriculture and food production sectors.
