Carbstrong described the brutal reality behind pigs in blankets, explaining that the sausage likely comes from an exploited mother pig and the bacon may come from one of her babies raised as meat producers.

Carbstrong, a former gang member turned animal advocate, created the documentary Pignorant to uncover the hidden truths of the UK's pork industry. The film includes footage of pigs being gassed to death, showcasing the suffering found at both factory and "high welfare" farms.
