Energy Company Opens ‘UK’s First’ Plant-Based Workplace Canteen

Green energy provider Ecotricity has made the staff canteen in its headquarters fully plant-based in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect nature, and promote healthy eating. Founder Dale Vince described the plant-based menu as a first for a UK workplace, emphasizing the benefits of plant-based eating for affordability, health, taste, and the planet. Forest Green Rovers, a football team owned by Vince, also serves 100 percent plant-based food to players, fans, and staff at its games.

Other companies and institutions, such as LinkedIn and various student unions and councils in the UK and Europe, have also begun transitioning towards serving more plant-based food. This shift reflects a growing trend towards plant-based diets as a sustainable and environmentally-friendly choice. Vince continues to advocate for plant-based options and the reduction of meat and dairy consumption in various settings to promote the health of both individuals and the planet.
