Ever After Foods Buys Belgian Startup Fishway to Add Aquatic Cell Biology to Cultivated Protein Platform

Ever After Foods, an Israeli cultivated protein company, has purchased Fishway, a Belgian biotechnology firm specializing in aquatic cell biology and animal-component-free media. This acquisition adds fish cell cultivation capabilities to Ever After Foods' manufacturing platform and establishes a scientific base in Europe. Fishway will now operate as Ever After Foods' European center of excellence for aquatic cell biology and ACF media development, with the company securing an additional $2 million for continued platform work and commercialization.

The collaboration aims to produce cultivated functional protein ingredients for premium pet food initially, with plans for cultivated meat and seafood in the future.
