Farm Sanctuary’s Humane Education Programme Reaches 250,000 Students Worldwide

Farm Sanctuary's Humane Education Programme has reached 250,000 students worldwide, providing resources aimed at fostering compassion for farmed animals, encouraging plant-based living, and supporting advocacy for a just and sustainable food system. Originally focused on specific regions in the US, the programme expanded to offer free virtual classes via Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing children worldwide to participate in monthly webinars and access downloadable curricula. In 2024, 68,000 students engaged with Farm Sanctuary's resources across 32 US states, as well as Australia, Canada, Ireland, and Mexico, highlighting the programme's significant impact and reach.

Ardyn Cieslak, senior humane education manager at Farm Sanctuary, emphasized the importance of these initiatives in classrooms and beyond, noting the awards and validation they have received. The programme includes age-appropriate virtual presentations, pre-recorded sessions, and free downloadable teaching materials designed to educate students about the modern food system, nurture compassion towards animals, and develop critical thinking skills in young people.
