Fi Europe Names 2026 Innovation Award Finalists and Adds Alternative Protein Prize

Fi Europe has announced the 25 finalists for its 2026 Innovation Awards, including the first finalists for the new Alternative Protein Innovation Award. The winners will be revealed on November 17 at Messe Frankfurt. A panel of industry experts selected the finalists from 133 submissions, with a focus on alternative protein sources such as plants, fungi, algae, microbes, and insects.

Entries in categories such as Fermentation, Cultivated, Plant-based, Health, and Sustainability showcase a range of innovative products and technologies from companies around the world. The finalists include products like soy protein concentrates, texturized pea proteins, precision-fermented dairy lipids, cultivated meat dog food, and functional ingredients produced through fermentation. The awards highlight the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving the food ingredients industry forward.
