Fi Europe Names 2026 Innovation Award Finalists and Adds Alternative Protein Prize

Fi Europe has announced the finalists for its 2026 Innovation Awards, with 25 entries shortlisted across eight categories. A new category for Alternative Protein Innovation has been added, recognizing the increasing importance of alternative protein sources such as plants, fungi, algae, microbes, and insects. Finalists in this category include Bunge for PurePro, dsm-firmenich for Vertis TVPs with ModulaSENSE, and Lallemand Bio-Ingredients for Engevita HiPRO Beyond.

Other categories include Dairy Alternative, Pet Food & Nutrition, Future Foodtech, Plant-based Innovation, Health Innovation, and Sustainability. Winners will be announced on 17 November at the trade show in Messe Frankfurt. Yannick Verry, Fi Events Brand Director at Informa Markets, highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving innovation within the food ingredients industry and celebrated the hard work, creativity, and passion of the teams behind the solutions being developed.
