Filipino Plant-Based Startup WTH Foods Introduces Microalgae-Based Vegan Seafood Products

Filipino plant-based startup WTH Foods has introduced a new range of vegan seafood products, including vegan crabcakes and tuna, using microalgae as a key ingredient. The company has focused on creating clean-label, low-sodium products that are both nutritious and environmentally friendly. The plant-based tuna developed by WTH Foods is highlighted for its superior nutritional value compared to conventional tuna, containing no cholesterol, microplastics, or heavy metal contamination while still providing essential nutrients like DHA and Omega-3.

While targeting the European market primarily, WTH Foods also plans to introduce South East Asian flavors to differentiate their products. The company aims to launch soy-based tuna in Southeast Asia and pea-based tuna in Europe, leveraging the region's preferences for different plant proteins. By focusing on clean-label products and unique flavor profiles, WTH Foods hopes to capture consumer interest and expand its presence in both markets.
