Final Goats Rescued From Abusive Oregon Dairy Arrive at California Sanctuary

The last 97 survivors rescued from Grand Barr Dairy—an Oregon goat dairy farm where PETA repeatedly documented filth and abuse—have arrived at The Humane Farming Association’s Suwanna Ranch in California. There, they will have the opportunity to graze in open pastures, forge friendships, and receive the care they were denied for so long. This marks a victorious conclusion for the more than 230 goats seized from the Oregon dairy following PETA’s undercover investigations, bringing them to safety and comfort.

Grand Barr Dairy was brought to PETA’s attention in 2025 for its poor conditions and treatment of animals. After investigations and submission of evidence, authorities seized the goats from the farm in February and they have since been relocated to sanctuaries. Despite the happy ending for these rescued goats, many others continue to suffer in the dairy industry. PETA urges people to go vegan and choose plant-based alternatives to spare animals from the cruelty documented at Grand Barr Dairy.
