Food Brewer Raises Over $11M with Backing from Lindt & Sprüngli and Sparkalis

Zurich-based food-tech startup Food Brewer has raised over $11 million in funding with backing from Lindt & Sprüngli and Sparkalis. The company specializes in producing cocoa and coffee alternatives using plant cell culture technology to provide climate-resilient options in the face of climate change and rising raw material costs. With the support from Lindt & Sprüngli, Food Brewer aims to accelerate its go-to-market strategy and product development efforts.

Founded in 2021, Food Brewer plans to introduce its first product in the US market, targeting a late 2026 sales start. The company is also evaluating options to scale up manufacturing, including potentially modifying existing brewing infrastructure or collaborating with industry partners to construct high-capacity production sites. This latest investment follows a previous seed funding round in 2024 that supported research, development, and production capabilities expansion.
