Fundación Veg commemorated International Environmental Education Day by launching the Veggie Challenge 2026, a free 30-day challenge promoting the benefits of a plant-based diet for health, animals, and the planet. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment through accessible actions, showing how incorporating more plant-based foods can have a positive impact on animals and ecosystems. Participants will receive support, information, and resources to incorporate plant-based foods into their diet for 30 days.

The 2025 edition of the Veggie Challenge had a significant impact, saving the lives of 325,436 animals and avoiding the use of millions of litres of water and thousands of square meters of forest land. Fundación Veg emphasizes the role of education in driving real change in the face of global environmental emergencies, and the Veggie Challenge serves as an educational tool for individuals to make more conscious decisions about their diet. Director Ignacia Uribe highlighted the importance of education in fostering more sustainable choices for the environment and promoting a plant-based lifestyle.
