Discount retailer Lidl has introduced a new range of 28 affordable plant-based products in the UK, including items like Meat Free Cordon Bleu and Barista Oat Milk. Meanwhile, British foodservice wholesaler Brakes has expanded its plant-based range with nearly 40 new products. Tofu Vegan, a popular Chinese restaurant chain, has opened a new location in London, and tofu maker Hodo has announced a retail expansion in the US.

In terms of company and finance updates, Belgian agrifood company Arvesta has opened a plant-based protein facility, while British green energy innovator Ecotricity has launched the country's first fully vegan workplace canteen. On the research and policy front, the UK House of Lords has recognized cultivated meat as a key engineering biology opportunity, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a motion to increase the procurement of plant-based foods for lower emissions and improved public health.
