German cereal producer Barnhouse has introduced a new vegan granola called Krunchy Low Sugar (No) Choco, featuring a cocoa-free chocolate alternative called THIC. The chocolate alternative is created by Danish startup Endless Food Co, which uses ingredients like brewer's spent grain and cocoa shells to mimic traditional chocolate-making processes, resulting in a product with a lower climate footprint compared to conventional dark chocolate.

Endless Food Co's focus on reducing food waste and emissions is evident in their use of ingredients that would otherwise be discarded, such as brewer's spent grain. The startup's cocoa-free chocolate has already been used in various products in Scandinavia and has received investments to expand production and further develop their innovative chocolate alternative.
