Germany’s Project Eaden Spins $15.6M in Series A Funding for Ultra-Realistic Pork-Free Ham

German startup Project Eaden has raised €15M ($15.6M) in a Series A funding round to launch its fibre-spun whole-cut plant-based ham in REWE supermarkets across Germany. The company uses textile technology to create ultra-realistic meat alternatives that closely mimic animal muscle fibres, targeting the $35B ham market.

Project Eaden's ham products are nitrate-free and free of antibiotics and hormones, appealing to consumers concerned about health and environmental impact. With funding from lead investors Planet A Ventures and REWE Group, the company plans to expand its product line and enter other European markets. The plant-based meat industry in Germany is growing as more consumers, particularly younger demographics, shift towards meat alternatives for health and environmental reasons.
