Givaudan, Kerry and Lallemand Among Sponsors Backing New Round of Flavor PhD Bursaries

Giract has opened applications for the 17th edition of its European PhD in Flavor Research Awards, sponsored by seven ingredient and flavor companies with ties to the plant-based sector. Companies such as Givaudan, Kerry, and Lallemand are backing the program, offering bursaries and thesis prizes to first-year and final-year PhD students. Winners will have the opportunity to visit sponsor company laboratories and present their research at Giract's Annual Savory Flavor & Food Industry Conference in Geneva.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program in certain European countries and cannot already be sponsored by a commercial organization. The deadline for applications is October 30, 2026, with final-year candidates for the thesis award needing to submit their completed thesis by December 1, 2026. Winners will be announced in December 2026 and January 2027, with full eligibility criteria and application forms available on Giract's website.
