Yves' departure from the market left a void in refrigerated vegan product shelves, and Martin Valiquette, president of Gusta, acknowledged the significant impact of Yves' exit. Gusta quickly moved to capitalize on the situation by offering similar products, including deli slices, mince line, and burgers to meet consumer demand.

In response to the opportunity presented by Yves' shutdown, Gusta has ramped up production, doubling its workforce from 21 to 42 employees and increasing production capacity to meet the demand for its new product line. While Gusta aims to provide replacements for many of Yves' products, including deli slices and burger patties, some items like frozen foods and sausages will not be replicated immediately. Valiquette commented on the unexpected shake-up in the plant-based food sector, expressing readiness to adapt and seize the opportunity presented by Yves' exit.
