Huge Aquarium Containing 1,500 Exotic Fish Bursts In Berlin

A huge aquarium containing 1,500 exotic fish burst in a hotel in Berlin. The AquaDom, described as the largest free-standing cylindrical tank in the world, stood at 14m high and was located in the Radisson Blu hotel lobby. Two people were injured by glass splinters, and it is believed that all the fish died as a result of the incident.

The cause of the aquarium bursting is not yet known, but there is speculation that the cold temperatures overnight may have caused a crack in the tank, leading to it exploding due to water pressure. Berlin officials expressed relief that the incident occurred in the early morning when the surrounding areas were not crowded with people. The AquaDom was a popular tourist attraction in Berlin and had been last upgraded in 2020 before the unfortunate incident.
