Humane World for Animals India Opens Sixth Round of Plant-Based Startup Accelerator

Humane World for Animals India is now accepting applications for the sixth edition of its Humane Entrepreneurship Program (HEP), focusing on plant-based food innovation. The program provides mentorship, business development support, and investor connections for early-stage founders. Participants compete for prize money and receive guidance from entrepreneurs, investors, and global experts, culminating in a Demo Day where they pitch to potential investors.

The program aims to address the challenges faced by plant-based food startups in accessing technical expertise, mentorship, and investor networks. Since its inception in 2020, HEP has supported 27 plant-based startups, with past participants including companies like Promeat, Phyx44, and Oatey. Furrmate, a recent participant, won a prize at the 2025 pitch day and praised the program for its role in helping early-stage teams bring clarity and structure to their startup journeys in the plant-based space.
