Swedish plant-based cheese company Stockeld Dreamery has announced its closure after facing challenges in raising further capital. Danish hybrid dairy producer PlanetDairy has taken the opportunity to acquire equipment and technology from Stockeld to enhance its research and development capabilities. PlanetDairy's focus is on delivering the full dairy experience with lower carbon emissions, aligning well with Stockeld's product portfolio based on legumes and fermentation.

PlanetDairy, founded by former dairy executives in 2022, combines dairy with plant-based ingredients to create lower-emission products with reduced saturated fat. The company offers a partnership model to co-create sustainable product solutions while emphasizing the importance of great taste, nutrition, and functionality at an affordable price. Through the acquisition of Stockeld's technology, PlanetDairy aims to meet consumer demand for sustainability in dairy products by incorporating innovative solutions into its product development process.
