IKEA Partners With La Vie To Make Bacon-Topped Vegan Hotdogs

IKEA has partnered with La Vie to introduce bacon-topped vegan hot dogs to their plant-based menu. La Vie, known for its plant-based meat products, will provide crispy bacon pieces for IKEA's classic vegan hot dogs, including the Korean BBQ hot dog with slaw, pickles, and crispy fried onions. La Vie's cheeky marketing style is reflected in the affordable price of 90p for the pig-free hot dog, encouraging customers to try their products while assembling IKEA furniture.

Since 2018, IKEA has offered vegan hot dogs made with kale, lentils, quinoa, and wheat protein, with a significantly lower environmental impact compared to meat-based options. With over 10 million sold, the retailer continues to expand its plant-based menu, aiming to support sustainability goals. In addition to the partnership with La Vie, IKEA has also collaborated with other vegan meat brands like THIS to bring pork-style sausages to their cafes, further catering to the growing demand for plant-based options in the UK.
