US plant-based meat brand Impossible Foods is launching four frozen products in selected Tesco stores across the UK, marking the company's entry into the UK grocery market after four years in the British foodservice industry. The range includes plant-based burger patties, "chicken" pieces, "chicken" fries, and "beef" kofta, with the chicken pieces being the company's first whole-muscle product with a texture resembling chicken breast. Each product is high in protein, with availability varying by store.

The products are made at Impossible Foods' new European co-manufacturing facility, with the burger patties specifically developed for UK and European consumers. The company claims its products have a lower environmental impact compared to animal-based equivalents, based on life cycle assessments carried out in the UK. This launch follows the company's entry into the UK foodservice market in 2022 and is a strategic move to reach more consumers interested in plant-based alternatives, with Tesco being a key partner in introducing Impossible Foods to grocery aisles across the UK.
