Impossible Ranch: Alt-Meat Giant to Transition Cattle Farm Into Crop Production for Plant-Based Meat

Impossible Foods is transitioning a former cattle farm in South Carolina into a crop production site for plant-based meat, rescuing the cows on the property in the process. The 70-acre ranch will now grow crops like soybeans, sunflowers, and coconut trees to support manufacturing of the company's vegan beef, chicken, and pork products. This move aims to highlight the environmental benefits of plant-based meat production, as traditional meat production contributes to water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

The company is also engaging in consumer education efforts, showcasing the ranch at the Oculus Transportation Hub in Manhattan and emphasizing taste, texture, and nutritional quality in their products. The farm transition project aligns with Impossible Foods' mission to offer a sustainable alternative to conventional meat and promote the benefits of plant-based diets.
