Miyoko Schinner, a pioneer in the plant-based industry, recently closed the chapter on her vegan dairy company, Miyoko’s Creamery, after facing disputes and legal battles. Despite the challenges, Schinner is moving forward with new projects, including a seventh cookbook, a Netflix documentary appearance, and potentially a restaurant venture. She has always been at the forefront of the vegan cheese movement, starting with the founding of Now and Zen in 1988 before establishing Miyoko’s Creamery in 2014.

Since her departure from Miyoko’s Creamery, Schinner has been busy with various endeavors, such as working on her new cookbook, The Vegan Creamery, launching a YouTube channel, and planning an autobiography. She is also focused on community-building and activism, especially through her animal sanctuary, Rancho Compasión. While unsure about starting another company, Schinner is considering ventures that prioritize activism and community empowerment, hinting at a potential return to entrepreneurship in the future.
