Biokraft Foods, an Indian cultivated meat startup, has successfully raised ₹2 crore (around $230,000) in pre-seed funding led by venture capital firm GVFL. This funding will be used to expedite the company's efforts in bringing ethical, high-quality cultivated meat to Indian consumers. With the use of proprietary 3D bioprinting processes, Biokraft has developed cultivated chicken that closely mimics traditional chicken in structure, texture, and nutritional profile.

The company has also introduced cultivated trout and plans to offer a complete range of cultivated meat products tailored to the preferences of Indian consumers. Biokraft's recent achievements, including successfully hosting the Great Indian Cultivated Chicken Cook-Off and conducting tasting events, demonstrate the strong validation of its science, strategy, and long-term vision. Through harnessing biotechnology, Biokraft aims to create sustainable food systems that reduce climate impact, enhance animal welfare, and resolve the inefficiencies associated with traditional meat production, underpins by GVFL's support.
