India’s PROT Prepares Commercial Rollout of Shelf-Stable Plant Protein Block

Mumbai-based foodtech company PROT is preparing to launch PROT Block, a shelf-stable plant protein designed for both consumer and professional kitchens. Developed following a closed trial involving 500 users, including home cooks and culinary professionals, the product offers a firm, minimally processed protein block that can be easily incorporated into various dishes. Each 100g serving contains 15 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber, making it a versatile and nutritious option for a wide range of applications.

Feedback from the pilot phase highlighted the product's high usability and culinary versatility, with participants incorporating the block into diverse meals without specific instructions. PROT plans to introduce the product across direct-to-consumer platforms, retail partnerships, and foodservice channels, with additional variations in development to address convenience and preparation needs. Co-founder Varun Gadodia emphasized the company's goal of creating a modular platform for plant protein, with a focus on simplicity and long-term habit change in the way people incorporate protein into their diets.
