Plucking live birds is illegal in the UK and EU, yet many countries still import products containing feathers obtained from live-plucking. Only around five percent of globally manufactured down and feathers are sourced responsibly. FOUR PAWS is calling on fashion brands to ensure their down supply chain is free from live plucking or transition to animal-free alternatives. Brands like H&M and Patagonia have committed to implementing higher animal welfare standards, showing a shift towards more ethical fashion choices.
