Investigation Finds Dead Cows ‘Eaten To The Bone’ At Red Tractor Dairy Farm

An investigation at a Red Tractor-approved UK dairy farm revealed a series of horrifying abuses, including extreme rough handling, dead animals left outside, and calves being taken from their mothers shortly after birth. The farm, Tafarn Y Bugail, had cows suffering from lameness and wearing shackles, with some dead cows being left outside for birds and wildlife to feed on, in violation of government guidance. Calves were taken from their mothers within hours of birth and subjected to harsh conditions.

The footage filmed by investigators showed cows being hit, shoved, and kicked during milking, with one cow hit over 55 times in seven minutes. Red Tractor, a UK assurance label, claimed there was nothing to suggest a systematic issue at the farm. However, this is not an isolated incident, as similar abuses have been uncovered at other Red Tractor farms. Animal rights activists urge consumers to ditch dairy and go vegan to avoid supporting such practices.
