Despite this trend, the production of new fur pelts continues to decline, and interest in sustainable alternatives is increasing, as many people still find farming animals for fur unacceptable.

On the other hand, the farming of animals for fur remains deeply unpopular, with nearly 80 percent of people in the UK calling for a ban on imported animal derivatives with cruel production methods. More countries are also introducing bans on fur farming, leading to a decline in the number of animals confined and killed on fur farms. Fashion brands are also increasingly offering faux fur and plant-based alternatives, reflecting the growing movement towards more ethical and sustainable fashion choices.
