Janelle Monáe and Isaias Hernandez Honored for Activism Work

Singer Janelle Monáe and environmental activist Isaias Hernandez were honored at Support + Feed's inaugural fundraising benefit in Los Angeles for their activism work. Founded by Maggie Baird, mother of musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, Support + Feed initially aimed to support vegan restaurants in LA and donate food to those in need during the pandemic. The organization has since grown, partnering with over 80 community organizations and distributing almost 400,000 meals to underserved communities nationally and internationally.

Monáe's WondaLunch program, in partnership with Support + Feed, provides plant-based meals to families in Los Angeles, while Hernandez, an environmental education influencer, works on developing a food justice curriculum. Both were acknowledged for their dedication to service and activism at the event, alongside other advocates and volunteers. The event celebrated Support + Feed's progress and highlighted the importance of plant-based advocacy and addressing food insecurity.
