“Label the Future” Event at European Parliament Will Debate Need for EU-Wide Vegan Labelling

The Label the Future event at the European Parliament in Brussels on January 28 will focus on the debate for a harmonised and mandatory EU-wide vegan labelling framework. Organised by MEP Sebastian Everding and the Green REV Institute, the event will feature panel discussions with experts from various organisations such as Safe Food Advocacy Europe, ProVeg, and the European Vegetarian Union.

The panels will discuss the need for a EU-wide vegan label for transparency, consumer protection, and sustainability in the food system. The event aims to address the barriers and obstacles hindering progress towards mandatory vegan labelling in the EU, and how to align the labelling system with sustainability and consumer protection goals. The event will be open to the public through registration and online livestream, encouraging participation and fostering a constructive, evidence-based debate on EU food labelling policy.
