Lallemand to Expand Production Capacity via Proposed Acquisition of French Baking Ingredient Firms

Canadian-based Lallemand Inc. is in exclusive talks to acquire AIT Ingredients and Solyve, two subsidiaries of the French milling group Moulins Soufflet. This proposed acquisition aims to expand Lallemand's global footprint and production capacity in the baking, flour milling, oenology, and beverage sectors. AIT Ingredients supplies baking-related products globally, while Solyve specializes in producing GMO-free enzymes for various industries such as winemaking and baking.

The CEO of Groupe InVivo, Thierry Blandinières, highlighted Lallemand's expertise in microorganism research as a good fit for managing and growing AIT Ingredients and Solyve. The divestment aligns with InVivo's strategic focus on field crops and sustainable supply chains, with the transaction expected to close in the summer of 2025 pending approvals and regulatory clearances. This acquisition will provide Lallemand with the opportunity to better serve existing and new customers across different sectors and regions.
