Leadership Transition at The Good Food Institute as CEO Ilya Sheyman Steps Down

The Good Food Institute (GFI) will see a leadership transition as CEO Ilya Sheyman steps down from his role, effective June 2, 2025. Jessica Almy, the current Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations, will serve as interim CEO while a search for a permanent successor is conducted. Under Sheyman's leadership, GFI experienced strategic growth, expanded internationally, and received increased financial support for alternative protein research and development. His departure is motivated by a desire to focus on issues affecting vulnerable communities in the United States.

Almy, who has been with GFI for eight years and leads the policy and government relations team, will step into the role of interim CEO. She expressed excitement about continuing to work towards GFI's vision of a resilient and sustainable food system. The board has confirmed that the search process for a new CEO will commence in the near future, recognizing Sheyman's contributions to the organization’s strategic development and mission advancement.
