Leah Garcés Returns to Compassion in World Farming to Lead Movement-Building Push

Leah Garcés has been appointed as the Global Ambassador for Compassion in World Farming, funded for two years by Coefficient Giving. Garcés previously established CIWF's US operation and served as its first executive director, and also held leadership positions at Mercy For Animals. The ambassador role will focus on building a movement to end the cage age and address factory farming, with a coalition that includes a diverse range of stakeholders such as farmers, faith leaders, communities, and environmentalists.

Garcés' experience with The Transfarmation Project, which supports livestock farmers transitioning to specialty crops and connecting them with plant-based buyers, will be valuable in her new role. She is also the author of books on transforming the chicken industry and promoting a movement away from factory farming. Garcés expressed excitement about her new position and the opportunity to work with CIWF to further the cause of animal welfare and sustainable farming practices.
