London, Tokyo, and New York have been identified as the top cities for vegan infrastructure and community engagement in the 2025 Vegan City Index released by HappyCow. London maintained its lead with a City Score of 1.4247, followed by Paris, Berlin, and Barcelona. European cities continue to dominate the global vegan landscape, with seven of the top ten spots occupied by European cities, while Tokyo and New York were the top-ranked cities in Asia and North America respectively.

HappyCow CEO Claudia Torres noted that consumer demand for delicious and sustainable food is shaping urban food cultures, with cities like London, Paris, and Berlin leading the way in redefining vegan dining experiences. The 2025 Index, the first published since a change in ownership at HappyCow in late 2025, highlights the growing trend towards plant-based dining options in urban centers worldwide. The platform, operating in 185 countries with over 279,000 listings, provides users with information on vegan and vegan-friendly establishments to meet the increasing demand for plant-based dining experiences.
