Louis Vuitton Just Released Its First Vegan Sneaker Line

Louis Vuitton has introduced its first vegan sneaker line, the Charlie sneakers, made from 90% recycled and bio-sourced materials. The sneakers feature recycled rubber in the soles, Econyl in the patch on the tongue, and laces made from recycled fibers. The uppers of the shoes are made from Biopolioli, a corn-based plastic.

Other luxury fashion brands are also exploring sustainable alternatives to leather, with Gucci using plant-based raw materials for its vegan leather sneakers. Materials like Piñatex and Mylo, made from pineapple plant fibers and mushroom mycelium, respectively, are also gaining popularity in the industry. Balenciaga has also joined the sustainability movement with their leather-free Zen Sneakers.

The Louis Vuitton Charlie sneakers are available in both low- and high-top styles, priced at $1,080 and $1,130 respectively. They come in a box made from recycled cardboard that can be repurposed as a bag. The sneakers can be found in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and can also be ordered online.
