Lurpak has finally released its plant-based spread, Lurpak Plant Based, made with just nine ingredients including coconut oil and rapeseed oil. The brand, known for its premium butter, aims to cater to the growing number of people in the UK moving away from dairy for ethical, environmental, and health reasons. This move comes after backlash from dairy farmers, with Lurpak previously stating that milk would always be at the heart of their products.

The release of Lurpak Plant Based comes at a time when more consumers are seeking dairy-free options. The vegan spread will be available in supermarkets in the UK and Denmark starting on August 21 and August 26 respectively. While the exact price is yet to be disclosed, Arla Foods has mentioned that it will be similar to the cost of the dairy version, offering an alternative for those looking to reduce their consumption of animal products.
