Reports of dogs being beaten, starved, illegally bred, and even killed continue to persist on Skid Row, in violation of animal protection laws. PETA released these records in a campaign to hold officials accountable and protect animals in the area.

In a video featuring actors and influencers, the suffering of animals in Skid Row was highlighted, with reports of animals being bred, neglected, and denied veterinary care while officials turn a blind eye. Despite laws in place mandating spaying/neutering and breeding restrictions, enforcement is lacking, leaving animals to suffer while city officials fail to act. PETA's campaign urges Mayor Bass to enforce animal protection laws in Skid Row and throughout Los Angeles, calling for action to end animal abuse and neglect in the area.
