McDonald’s Expands McPlant Test to 600 US Locations

McDonald’s is expanding its McPlant test to 600 US locations, starting in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas on February 14. This move follows a successful trial in eight US restaurants last year, where customers reacted positively to the plant-based burger. The McPlant, created in collaboration with Beyond Meat, features a vegan patty made from peas, rice, and potatoes, served on a sesame seed bun with various toppings. However, please note that the burger is cooked on a shared grill.

In addition to the US launch, McDonald’s has also announced that the McPlant will be available at all UK and Ireland stores, where it will be entirely vegan with vegan sauce and cheese. The UK version will be cooked in a separate area with dedicated vegan utensils.
