McDonald’s Netherlands Reintroduces Plant-Based McKroket with PrimeJack Jackfruit

McDonald’s Netherlands has brought back the Meatless McKroket to its menu after initially launching and later discontinuing it in September 2023. Developed in collaboration with Van Geloven and Fiber Foods Group, the plant-based alternative to the beef McKroket features a filling made with PrimeJack® jackfruit. Available nationwide, customers can opt for a vegan version by ordering it without the McKroket Mustard Sauce.

Inez van Oord, co-founder of Fiber Foods Group, expressed excitement for the return of the Meatless McKroket, highlighting the product's unique flavor profile that closely resembles the original meat version. The fast-food chain has worked with over 60 franchisees to offer both the traditional and meatless variants simultaneously, catering to customer demand for a meatless option alongside the classic beef McKroket. McDonald’s has adapted its processes to accommodate both versions of the popular menu item.
