McVitie’s Just Dropped Jaffa Cake Cookies, And They’re Vegan

McVitie’s has introduced a new vegan version of their iconic Jaffa Cakes in the form of soft-baked Jaffa Cookies. These large cookies are half-coated in chocolate and have a tangy orange center, resembling the popular biscuit brand's original Jaffa Cakes. The cookies, spotted at Asda by an Aberdeen-based influencer, have been deemed "delicious" by a member of the Plant Based News team, who confirmed that the recipe appears to be vegan.

While there are currently no vegan versions of classic Jaffa Cakes available in the UK, McVitie’s Jaffa Cookies provide a plant-based alternative for those seeking a similar treat. The cookies are available at Asda stores with plans to expand to other supermarkets in July. Additionally, Lidl has introduced its own version of Jaffa Cookies under the Tower Gate brand, offering a similar taste experience to the original Jaffa Cakes for vegans and non-vegans alike.
