Meatly’s Cultivated Chicken Earns Paws of Approval in Feeding Trials, New Investments Ahead of 2025 Launch

Meatly, the UK’s only regulatory-approved cultivated meat company, has successfully completed feeding trials with dogs for Meatly Chicken, showing no significant adverse effects and high acceptance from the canines. The trials, conducted by Treat Therapeutics with 31 dogs from 14 different breeds across the UK, demonstrated that dogs enjoy the cultivated meat product more than their baseline diet, with 75% reportedly starting their meals immediately or within a few seconds when presented.

The company also announced new investments from dsm-firmenich Venturing, JamJar Investments, Joyful Ventures, and Pets at Home to support the launch of their first brand partner in early 2025. Meatly's cultivated chicken offers a sustainable and kinder meat option for pets, with a protein profile comparable to regular chicken breast and essential amino acids, fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins needed for pet nutrition. The company aims to address the growing demand for meat while significantly reducing the environmental impact compared to traditional factory farming.
