MeliBio’s Bee-Free Honey Technology Acquired by Swiss Foodtech FoodYoung Labs

California-based plant-based honey alternative developer MeliBio has been acquired by Switzerland-based foodtech company FoodYoung Labs. The acquisition includes MeliBio’s Mellody® brand and Generation 1 technology. FoodYoung Labs, known for its innovation in snack bars, chocolates, and more, aims to further develop and scale MeliBio’s bee-free technology for sustainable food products.

MeliBio gained recognition for Mellody®, a plant-based honey substitute, which was initially introduced in high-end gastronomy settings before expanding to retail. With FoodYoung Labs’ expertise in food science and ingredient sourcing, MeliBio sees the acquisition as a step towards advancing foodtech innovation and creating a lasting impact in the industry. Together, the companies plan to make Mellody® even more clean-label and unrefined, building upon MeliBio’s mission with the support of FoodYoung Labs’ experience and resources.
