Swedish biotech company Melt&Marble has secured €7.3 million in Series A funding to scale production of designer fats made using precision fermentation. The funding, led by Industrifonden and supported by various investors, brings the total amount raised by Melt&Marble to around €10 million in the past year.

Melt&Marble's sustainable alternative fats offer enhanced functionality for various applications, including personal care, beauty, and food products. The company's precision fermentation platform allows for tailored fat structures that meet technical demands and sustainability goals. With plans for commercial launch next year, Melt&Marble is working on collaborations with industry players in Europe and the US for further expansion. CEO Anastasia Krivoruchko stated that the funding marks a milestone in transitioning from R&D to commercialization, bringing them closer to their goal of delivering sustainable, high-performance ingredients.
