Mercedes-Benz GLC Becomes World’s First Car With Interior Certified by The Vegan Society

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the world’s first car interior to be certified as vegan by The Vegan Society. The new Vegan Package option for the interior of the electric GLC includes soft-touch materials such as seat upholstery, steering wheel, and door panels that are all approved by The Vegan Society. The materials used also contain a high proportion of recycled content, making them environmentally friendly.

As part of the certification process, Mercedes-Benz audited its current interior materials to ensure they did not contain any animal-based components. Any materials that did were replaced with animal-free alternatives that met the company’s high standards of quality and perceived value. Through partnerships with ethical material suppliers and a commitment to transparency and trust, Mercedes-Benz aims to set a new standard for sustainability in the automotive industry.
