German biotech company MicroHarvest has successfully scaled up its microbial protein production to 10 tons per day in a single vessel, marking a significant milestone in a new large-scale trial. The company's technology allows for quick production of proteins using biomass fermentation and agricultural side streams as feedstock, with the ability to produce essential amino acids, minerals, and vitamins in just 24 hours.

MicroHarvest's successful trial results have validated their ability to meet commercial demands for sustainable proteins, with plans to increase production capacity to 15,000 tons per year by 2026.
